Dear Amy,
I have a son who has been a special ed student (IEP) and since middle school (he is now in high school) he has not received the education that he needs. He has no credits (he is in the 10th grade) towards graduation. When he attended Maplewood both my husband and I were always at the school discussing education needs. We even asked them to hold him back. I did take him out of public school to home school for over a year.
He is 17 years old now. He has not been the perfect student but he has not received the education he should have. Please help me. What can I do? We have also spent time with him at the high school level. The class room activity is very sad in most cases. He has gone all this time in school with not good results.
