Probable cause found against Kirkmeyer
OK. I know Barbara Kirkmeyer won the election for Weld County Commissioner in District 3. It’s my district. As I said all along, I have problems with how Kirkmeyer conducts business and manages money. According to CompleteColorado.com, Weld County D.A. Ken Buck found probable cause that Kirkmeyer violated Colorado’s ethics statute for state employees. However, there doesn’t seem to be any penalty for the possible violation. Apparently state senator Scott Renfroe is going to address the lack of any penalty in the upcoming legislative session.
Great. My commissioner may have violated the state’s ethic clause and there’s nothing we can do.

Just checking out google on Kirkmeyer and saw all of this. We own a business in Weld County and she is making our lives a living hell, even though we are in compliance with all the requirements of 2nd amended USR permit. We live in Denver and commute, so were unaware of all her lack of ethics and the local politics of Weld County. What is her story? Why is she on a rage to close small private owned businesses in Weld County that will soon be generating 50 jobs and a steady source of revenue for the County? We own Tire Recycling and are in negoiations with a third party to begin shredding the tires, recycling them into mulch, and other reprocessed products to begin reducing the tire inventory and have it totally used up in a recycled product in 10 years. Our goal is to be able to have any tire that comes in for disposal, leave the facility in a short amount of time as a recycled product.
Kirkmeyer is fighting us tooth and nail. She has gone on public record that she wants us closed down immediately. The problem is Tire Recycling, Inc. is the only licensed monofill in the
entire State of Colorado. Colorado law prohibits any other landfill to allow tires in their landfills. We have many customers throughout the community and the State that benefit from our service. Without it, they have no where to dispose of their scrap tires. Kirkmeyer has stated that is not her problem. Will it be her problem when tires begin to pile up on county roads, ditches, empty or vacant lots? Who will clean them up? Weld County taxpayers?
